Cape Town | R40 000 to R70 000 per month | 7am 4:30pm shift

They foster a collaborative, hands‑on environment where engineers and designers shape vessels admired across the globe.

You will join the Drawing Office team responsible for the full design and documentation of mechanical and systems‑related components of luxury yachts, including piping, propulsion, HVAC, and electrical systems. This is a permanent, on‑site role reporting to the Drawing Office Supervisor, working closely with the Technical Coordinator, designers, and subcontractors to deliver high‑quality, integrated engineering solutions.

• Design and develop yacht mechanical systems layouts, including piping, wiring, and drivetrain arrangements.
• Produce detailed 3D models (Solid Works) and 2D drawings (AutoCAD or equivalent) for production.
• Create system schematics and ensure seamless integration with structural and interior design elements.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams to maintain technical alignment.
• Ensure all systems comply with specifications, safety standards, and classification requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovative design solutions.
• Deliver accurate and timely design packages, supporting production and quality control teams.

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical or Marine Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical systems design within the marine industry.
• Proficient in 3D parametric modeling (Solid Works) and 2D drafting (AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of yacht or ship systems, propulsion, HVAC, hydraulics, and electrical.
• Practical sailing experience is advantageous.
• Detail‑oriented, organized, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communicator with experience in cross‑functional and multicultural teams.
• Proactive problem‑solver with initiative and commitment to deadlines willing to work overtime when required.
