Job Description

Here is what you will be doing:

As a Technologist in our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering Team, you will be responsible for undertaking specialised analysis and developing traffic / transportation designs on a diverse array of infrastructure projects. These projects will encompass major roads, public transport systems, non-motorized transport, railway corridors, ports and harbours, as well as urban developments across Africa and beyond.

Technical Excellence:

Contributes to the development of technical proposals.

Develops design by gathering, correlating and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.

When possible, collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project models.

Develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines.

Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline models, drawings, reports and tender documents.

Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered. Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Coordinates with other team members as applicable for the design process's continuity.

Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of production for accuracy to design instructions.

Client Relationship Management:

Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc.

Participates in the development and preparation of bids and proposals.

Qualifications

Here is what we are looking for:

BTech Degree an accredited Institution.

A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in a similar role within the built environment is essential.

Post graduate qualification advantageous.

Registered as a Candidate Technologist with ECSA

Proven experience in transportation planning studies, traffic analysis and modelling, as well as the design of transportation and traffic infrastructure.

Familiarity with transport modelling software (e.g., PTV, SIDRA, Synchro), GIS applications, design/drafting software (e.g. Auto Desk, Civil 3D, Bentley) is advantageous.

Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret data and effectively present findings.

Capacity to deliver high quality work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
