AECOM is continuing to grow our Ports and Maritime capability across Australia and we are seeking experienced Design and Project Managers with a strong background in Ports, Coastal and Maritime Infrastructure design to support our expanding pipeline of major projects.
These opportunities may particularly appeal to professionals who are considering a move to Australia, whether permanently or for a period of time.
Equally, these roles may suit someone interested in relocating to Australia for a year or two to support key project delivery, before returning to their home market.
We currently have multiple opportunities across Australia, at all levels of experience, as our project pipeline continues to expand.
How you’ll make a difference
- Lead the design management and delivery of ports and maritime infrastructure projects, including port expansions, marine structures, coastal infrastructure and waterfront developments.
- Own and manage packages of work, taking accountability for scope, program, technical delivery and client outcomes.
- Coordinate with AECOM teams across Australia and across the globe, leveraging our design capability to deliver complex maritime infrastructure projects.
Act as the client interface, building trusted relationships with port authorities, government agencies and private sector clients. - Manage project delivery end-to-end, including design and commercial management, programme coordination and multidisciplinary technical integration.
- Provide leadership across maritime and coastal engineering disciplines, ensuring designs align with industry standards and best practice.
Support the growth of AECOM’s Ports & Maritime capability globally, mentoring engineers and strengthening delivery teams.
The qualities that help you thrive

- Significant experience as a Design Manager, Technical Lead, Project Manager or Senior Engineer within ports, coastal or maritime infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience managing multidisciplinary design teams across complex maritime infrastructure projects.
- Experience delivering design and planning for ports, marine structures, coastal infrastructure or waterfront developments.
- Demonstrated ability to own and deliver packages of work within major infrastructure programs.
- Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills, particularly with port authorities, government agencies or major infrastructure clients.
- Experience coordinating teams across multiple offices, regions or international delivery environments.
- A passion for delivering infrastructure that supports coastal communities, trade and long-term economic growth.
