Our client, who specializes in end‑to‑end engineering for medium‑ and heavy‑duty platforms, is looking for a CAD Quality Coordinator to join their engineering team and fit into the dynamic, change‑embracing culture of the company. The role requires a well‑rounded person with a high EQ, the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, and a self‑starter attitude. Responsibilities include ensuring that engineering CAD models and drawings comply with company and customer standards, processes, and quality requirements.
The coordinator reviews and verifies CAD data using Siemens NX and Teamcenter, identifies deviations from established standards, and provides feedback to engineers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and manufacturability. They also contribute to continuous improvement of CAD processes, support the documentation of engineering knowledge, and assist in training team members on applicable engineering standards and best practices.
CAD Quality Control
- Operate Siemens NX and Teamcenter
- Learn customer engineering standards and processes
- Review engineering CAD models and drawings for adherence to standards
- Provide feedback to engineers regarding standards
- Develop and execute non‑design intent technical verification activities on engineers’ CAD files
- Provide input into the continuous improvement of CAD processes and standards
- Train engineering standards to new employees
- Record CAD and customer standard related knowledge and experience in a body of knowledge
- South African matric (Grade 12/NQF Level
5) - Recognised industry technical qualification (minimum 2 years)
- Two years of full‑time 3D/2D CAD experience with mid‑to‑high‑end CAD software (Solidworks, Solid Edge, Siemens NX, Creo, Inventor)
- Previous experience in the design and integration of automotive components; strong knowledge of Siemens NX is advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate relevant experience in manufacturing process exposure (welding, sheet metal, pipe bending, harness manufacturing) and a working knowledge or demonstrated interest in AI‑enabled tools for CAD quality control, including model and drawing compliance checks, standards verification, documentation accuracy, data quality within PDM systems and risk identification in automotive engineering
