Wind​/Solar Engineer

Overview

A large consulting company with offices around the world is looking for a Senior Wind/Solar Engineer in Cape Town. This position provides the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting international renewable projects and collaborate with experts around the world.

• Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent through experience.
• 3‑5 years’ experience in the solar or wind industry, preferably in consultancy, and at least 5 years in overall renewable energy experience.
• Thorough experience with technical due diligence on solar and/or wind projects, specifically experience with PV EPC, O&M, PPA, and Wind Turbine contracts review (EPC, WTG supply contract, O&M, PPA), as Lender’s/Owner’s technical advisor.
• Experience with technical solar and wind turbine inspections and construction monitoring.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn multiple software tools.
• Fluent in French and/or Portuguese is advantageous.

• Managing technical due diligence assignments and guiding customers throughout the financial close phase.
• Managing the EPC and O&M tender preparation and following contract negotiations.
• Leading feasibility studies.
• Reviewing overall project design and suggesting potential improvements.
