Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Wind Data Evaluation:
- Responsible for the evaluation and assessment of wind resource and expected energy output
- Assess OEM offers and recommend appropriate turbine types for the wind farm
- Coordinate independent energy yield assessments as required for bankability/ third party verification
- Produce detailed reports which review the feasibility of sites for development including feasibility studies and site meteorological measurements
- Write reports for internal review and decision making; site visits (inspecting sites and measurement equipment) may be requested as needed
- Prepare and coordinate proposals and bids
- Participate in business development activities related to energy analysis inputs
- Manage projects to ensure completion within timescale and budget
- Develop templates and tools to assist in the compilation and review of Energy Yield Reports
- Initiate and manage resource measurement campaigns including QC of recordings
- Undertake site conditions assessments including extreme wind analysis, turbulence, shear, and environmental constraints
- Review site feasibility studies, measurement campaigns, and met mast / LiDAR / SoDAR data
- Project Management
- Work closely with the procurement team to ensure wind measurement campaigns are designed efficiently and run smoothly
- Manage the gathering of data/information as input to the resource evaluation/assessment of site
- Ensure measurement campaigns run smoothly and reports are updated and layouts amended accordingly
- Ensure wind layouts are optimized and reports updated regularly
- Development of additional templates and tools
- Assess and stay up to date with available tools for wind assessments
- Develop templates and tools to assist in quick decision making and energy analysis (typically in Excel)
- Qualification
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Atmospheric Science or Mathematics field or related field

- Relevant Professional Experience
- At least 5 years relevant experience as a Wind Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) specialist with proficiency in WAsP/Open Wind/Wind Farmer/WindPRO software or similar wind modelling
- Additional qualification(s)/certificates
- Registration as a Candidate Engineer. Postgraduate qualification preferred
- Experience
- Windfarm layout – Experience in basic design of wind farm layout optimisation
- Data analysis – Aptitude for statistical analysis of data; experience processing and manipulating large data sets and multiple data sources is a plus
- Wind modelling software and methods – Exposure and familiarity with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques
- GIS – Knowledge of various GIS tools and methods
- IT Knowledge (systems, software, ...)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and professional use of these tools
- Business fluent in English
- Proficiency in energy analysis software such as WAsP/Open Wind/Wind Farmer/WindPRO or similar
