Job Description
BIM Modeller – Mechanical, Data Centers based in South Africa's Enterprise Capabilities office in Cape Town
. The role supports a local team and global teams. The BIM Modeller performs routine structured work in the mechanical discipline, using Revit and other software to model without supervision and create content within a specific discipline.
BIM execution of Mechanical Building Services disciplines including HVAC, Wet Services, Process, Fire.
- Proficient in Revit modelling across all above Mechanical Building Services disciplines
- Experienced in Navis Works with clash detection and interdisciplinary coordination
- Performs BIM upskilling of resources
- Assists BIM Manager with content creation and standard enforcement
- Performs Level 3 QA/QC checks on discipline models
- Works with minimal supervision, schedules and manages time efficiently
- Reads and understands construction documents
- Familiar with design parameters related to discipline specific requirements
- Knowledge of AECOM standard modelling practices and procedures
- Maintains and adheres to AECOM and project specific filing systems
- Adheres to the project BIM Execution Plan and defined project standards
- Develops BIM content based on BIM Modelling standards
- Owns and is responsible for own work
- Ensures accuracy and quality of discipline models
- Develops constituent parts of the Information Model in connection with specific tasks
- Works on multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborates and communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and common model development tasks
- Works within a team on single or multidisciplinary projects
- Maintains awareness of safety, quality standards and design integration
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Building services utilizing Revit, with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Preferred: certification or qualification in Mechanical built environment studies.
- At least 1 year of experience in a BIM environment.
- Preferred certification in Revit.
- General understanding of integrated architectural and engineering practices.
