RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established engineering consulting firm in South Africa, is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Urban Infrastructure Design Engineer to join their dynamic team in Cape Town as soon as possible.
This is a key technical and project leadership role within their Urban Infrastructure division, involving the design and delivery of complex urban roads and underground municipal services projects. You will be responsible for overseeing design and project execution, managing quality, performing contract administration, and leading tender documentation and cost estimation activities.
Responsibilities- Act as Contract Engineer / Employer's Agent for urban infrastructure projects
- Prepare tender documentation and construction cost estimates
- Lead design and quality management for urban roads and underground services
- Perform contract administration duties in line with standard forms of contract
- Manage multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with clients, stakeholders, and authorities
- Apply sound engineering judgment to develop practical and cost-effective solutions
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and technical staff
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, client requirements, and statutory regulations
- BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering (essential)
- MEng/MSc in Civil Engineering (preferred)
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA
- Minimum of 10 years post-registration experience in urban infrastructure design and project delivery
- Proven experience with municipal infrastructure, urban roads, and underground services
- Sound knowledge of contract documentation, construction methods, and contract administration
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Civilsoft Bill, and MS Office
Salary:
Negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications
