Job Description & How to Apply Below

Do you want to join the world's leading energy consulting firm? Are you committed to addressing climate change? Do you enjoy collaborating with colleagues and clients, and thrive in a dynamic and respectful environment?

Then you may find the position of Renewables Intern in the Renewables Advisory Africa division of the Energy Systems business unit, to be a great fit for you!

You’d be part of the Middle East & Africa (MEA) geographical unit. You will be working with diverse customers and colleagues along the region.

DNV’s MEA Renewables Advisory Team is growing quickly to meet the expanding demand for expert wind, solar, storage and hybrid energy advisory services in the region. We support utilities, regulators, developers, owners and lenders with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, conceptual design & procurement support, and independent technical advisory services for either owner, lender or offtaker/procurer/regulator.

In this role you will be involved in the delivery of primarily utility-scale wind, solar and BESS advisory related projects, as well as being part of an engineering team constantly evolving for developing/maintaining services for renewables projects.

Most of the work will be desk based, however travel for site and customer visits will be required at times (estimated at 5% to 20% of your time, depending on the projects you are involved in).

DNV is a multi-disciplinary international foundation, covering a wide variety of verification, auditing and engineering sectors. The company is globally represented in most countries, with a Head Office based in Oslo, Norway.

The African Renewables Advisory division offers candidates a chance to work as an intern for one of the most established energy consulting firms in South Africa and the rest of the continent. Focused in our Cape Town office in the heart of the Foreshore, the team enjoys a highly dynamic and fast-paced working environment where staff are encouraged to develop and grow.

DNV’s involvement across the entire renewables development and construction sector gives candidates valuable exposure to all parts of the renewables value-chain, from pre-construction specialist studies and resource modelling, through to procurement support, construction supervision and decommissioning.

Candidates are afforded a high degree of flexibility and autonomy, whilst being fully supported in their internship journey. The initial internship contract will be for a period of 6 months, with potential for renewal of an additional 6 months for high-value candidates.

The role is based in Cape Town, South Africa. There are no direct reports.

DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age or political opinion.
