About the Role
Our client, a specialist water treatment solutions company based in the Eastern Suburbs of the Western Cape, is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical design and drafting experience, ideally gained within the water treatment, process, mining, or broader industrial sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering drawings and documentation, while supporting projects throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept and design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.


What you’ll be doing

• Mechanical design of water treatment plants
• P&t and updates
• General Arrangement (GA) drawings
• Manufacturing and fabrication drawings
• Pipework and plant layout drawings
• 3D modelling and assembly drawings
• BOM generation
• Technical procurement support
• Assisting with fabrication and workshop queries
• Site measurements and as-built drawings
• Supporting installation and commissioning teams
• Developing and maintaining mechanical design standards

What you’ll need

• BEng / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
• 3–8 years' experience in mechanical design
• Strong AutoCAD experience
• Experience with Inventor or Solid Works (preferred)
• Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings
• Good understanding of piping systems, valves, pumps and process equipment
• Ability to interpret and produce P&IDs
• Strong attention to detail
• Willingness to travel to site when required
