Role Purpose

Due to continued growth across our South African operations, we are seeking a Project Controls Analyst to join our expanding Cape Town team.

As a Project Controls Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of Kirby's most complex and high-profile engineering projects.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project controls systems, performance reporting, analytics, and forecasting capabilities across multiple projects. You will transform complex construction and engineering data into meaningful insights, enabling project teams to make informed decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and drive successful project outcomes.

Working closely with planning, engineering, construction, and commercial teams, you will leverage digital engineering tools and project controls software including Power BI, Primavera P6, SQL, Revit, Navisworks, BIM platforms, and the Microsoft Office Suite to monitor project performance, track progress against key milestones, and deliver accurate reporting.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to help build and shape a growing Project Controls and Analytics function in Cape Town while gaining exposure to advanced reporting, forecasting, digital construction technologies, and project controls forensic analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project controls systems, reporting structures, and performance metrics.
  • Track construction and installation progress against project baselines and planned quantities.
  • Generate project progress updates using construction and engineering data.
  • Analyse project performance and provide meaningful insights to project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Extract, manipulate, and interpret information from BIM, 3D and 4D models.
  • Use digital construction data to support planning, reporting, forecasting, and project performance reviews.
  • Support forecasting, trend analysis, and project controls forensic investigations.
  • Build dashboards and reports that communicate project status clearly and effectively.
  • Work closely with engineering, planning, and construction teams to improve project visibility and reporting accuracy.
  • Monitor project data to identify potential risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Project Controls and Analytics function within the Cape Town business.
