Senior Civil Engineer – Infrastructure

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects in Cape Town. This opportunity is ideal for a professionally registered engineer with strong consulting experience and a passion for delivering practical, compliant and innovative engineering solutions.

• Act as the technical design lead across infrastructure projects.
• Design stormwater reticulation and management infrastructure, roads and earthworks.
• Oversee project delivery and undertake technical design work.
• Ensure designs comply with South African regulations, SANS standards, municipal requirements and client specifications.
• Review, interrogate and optimise designs for efficiency, cost-effectiveness and buildability.
• Support resource allocation within a matrix-based project environment.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Provide technical guidance, performance feedback and career development support.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders and provide clear technical input.
• Prepare and review technical reports and project documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Registration with ECSA as PrEng or Pr Tech Eng .
• Minimum 8 years’ progressive civil engineering experience.
• Strong consulting engineering experience within infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience leading technical teams or managing engineering projects.
• Advanced design experience in water, sewer, stormwater, roads and earthworks.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Wadiso, iDAS or equivalent modelling software.
• Strong knowledge of South African engineering standards, SANS codes and municipal requirements.
• Sound project management, coordination, budgeting and resource allocation skills.
• Excellent technical report writing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
