Energy and Sustainability Engineer

Our client, a leading hospital group, is looking for an accomplished Energy and Sustainability Engineer to drive sustainability initiatives, improve energy efficiency, and support engineering excellence across its operations. This role is ideal for an individual who combines strong technical expertise with project management skills and a commitment to delivering measurable environmental and operational improvements.

• Provide engineering support for critical plant and equipment with a focus on sustainability.
• Assess engineering systems and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Lead sustainability projects from concept through implementation and performance review.
• Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations.
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders and coordinate engineering service delivery.
• Assist with SCADA-related engineering requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and monitor sustainability objectives.

• National Diploma (NQF
  6) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Engineering experience within a hospital maintenance and project environment.
• Qualified Energy Auditor or equivalent.
• Proven success in environmental sustainability programmes and energy reduction initiatives.
• Experience with renewable energy systems and engineering projects.
• Strong financial planning, budgeting, project management, and organisational skills.
• Good working knowledge of MS Office; SAP PM experience will be beneficial.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• Certified Energy Manager accreditation.
• Engineering design and project management experience.
• Experience implementing engineering systems and sustainability improvements.
