Lead Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

• Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical design team
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to design engineers
• Manage engineering resources and allocate tasks according to project priorities
• Interface with customers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver engineering solutions
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and project requirements
• Manage project schedules and ensure key milestones are achieved
• Lead internal and external design reviews to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
• Develop and review 3D models, engineering drawings, and associated design documentation
• Support product development activities from concept through to production
• Maintain engineering data and documentation within relevant management systems
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to design quality, project delivery, and team performance
• Contribute to engineering governance, resource planning, and technical decision-making processes

• Minimum 15 years' post-graduate engineering design experience
• Strong background in product design and engineering development
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering or design teams
• Strong project management and resource planning capabilities
• Experience conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with engineering standards
• Proficiency in CAD design, including 3D modelling and 2D engineering drawings
• Experience working with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities
• Experience leveraging digital engineering tools to improve design quality, data management, and project execution
• Willigness to travel internationally when required

• BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
