About the Role

Our client seeks a visionary Lead Structural Engineer to spearhead design and analysis of innovative structural solutions for key construction projects based in Cape Town. This leadership role involves guiding a team of engineers, ensuring technical excellence, and driving adoption of cutting-edge engineering practices. You will play a crucial part in shaping the built environment, contributing to projects that range from high-rise buildings to complex infrastructure.

• Lead the structural design process for diverse construction projects, ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
• Perform complex structural analysis and calculations using advanced modeling software.
• Oversee the production of detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Mentor and develop junior structural engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to resolve design challenges and ensure constructability.
• Review and approve structural designs and calculations submitted by team members and external consultants.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a significant portion in a lead or senior capacity.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is essential.
• Expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and structural design software (e.g., SAP
  2000, ETABS, Revit).
• Demonstrated experience in designing structures for the Western Cape region, considering local seismic and environmental factors.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
