About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent Chemical Engineer to join their Process Development team in Cape Town . You will play a key role in developing and refining chemical processes that are critical to the company's product lines. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing you to contribute effectively to challenging projects. You will work closely with senior engineers and researchers to translate laboratory discoveries into viable industrial-scale processes, ensuring both efficiency and sustainability in our operations, fostering an environment of innovation and continuous improvement within the scientific community.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize chemical processes from laboratory scale to pilot and commercial scale, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Design and conduct experiments to investigate process parameters and identify areas for improvement.
- Utilize process simulation tools to model and analyze process performance and predict outcomes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process-related issues, ensuring consistent product quality and yield.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and process documentation.
- Collaborate with equipment engineers and manufacturing teams during process implementation and validation phases.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of experience in chemical process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
- Familiarity with process design principles and common chemical engineering unit operations.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid work model .
