About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with specialization in Water and Sanitation systems for their operations in Cape Town. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of essential water supply and wastewater management infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the provision of safe and reliable water resources to the community. You will work closely with municipal bodies and environmental agencies to uphold the highest standards of public health and environmental protection, contributing to sustainable urban development in the Western Cape.
The position requires a proactive engineer with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Design and engineer water treatment plants, distribution networks, and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents for water and sanitation projects.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to design specifications and safety protocols.
- Manage project budgets and timelines, reporting on progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues within existing water and sanitation infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a strong emphasis on Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in water and sanitation engineering.
- Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
- Proven experience with water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, SWMM) and design tools.
- Solid understanding of environmental regulations and public health standards related to water services.
