About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and results-driven Operations Improvement Engineer to join their established team in Cape Town . This role focuses on enhancing operational performance through the application of industrial engineering principles and innovative problem-solving techniques. You will be instrumental in streamlining complex processes, reducing operational costs, and improving overall product quality within their diverse manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on a daily basis in a vibrant city known for its industrial and logistical capabilities in the Western Cape .
Key Responsibilities- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement solutions that increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Develop and standardize operational procedures and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality.
- Utilize data analysis tools to track operational performance and identify trends for improvement.
- Design and implement effective facility layouts and material flow systems.
- Manage and execute continuous improvement projects from conception to completion.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, logistics, and quality assurance, to achieve operational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in an industrial engineering or operations analysis role.
- Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with process simulation software.
