GCC Mines Engineering Manager

The GCC Mines Engineering Manager is a newly created role to oversee and set up the Engineering Department for this company.

You will be part of the new management team, overseeing 9 operations, mostly Western Cape based, with some elsewhere in South Africa.

Salary: R180,000 – R200,000 per month.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Set up the Central Engineering department from the ground up
• Set Maintenance Strategy, ensuring equipment availability, raliability and compliance
• The role will carry 2.13.1 legal responsibility for 2 sites, as well as overall responsibilty for the engineering function for opencast mining and several plants.
• You will also be involved in setting up a workshop for all refurb, maintenance and repair of machinery
• Manage a small team of engineers and broader team of technicians and specialists
• Develop and oversee Engineering budget
• Head capital projects

Requirements:

• GCC Mines & Works
• 8+ Years experience in mining / quarrying
• Experience in managing a senior team – this role is not suited for a newly qualified GCC engineer
• Proven experience in heading capital projects and maintenance strategies
• Energy management exp highly preferred
