Junior Mechanical Engineer - R&D

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their innovative Research and Development team based in Cape Town . In this role, you will contribute to the design, prototyping, and testing of new mechanical products and technologies. You will work closely with senior engineers and researchers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technologically advanced environment. • Assist in the design and development of new mechanical components and systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Support the creation of prototypes and conduct initial testing to validate design concepts.
• Contribute to the generation of technical documentation, including drawings and reports.
• Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions to generate innovative solutions.
• Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes relevant to R&D projects.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues encountered during development and testing phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities .
