Civil Engineer - Geotechnical Specialization

Our client is looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in geotechnical engineering to join their team in Cape Town . This role involves assessing soil conditions, designing foundations, and ensuring the stability of structures for various construction projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, balancing site visits with office-based design and analysis. This hybrid position offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, supporting a healthy work-life balance while contributing to significant infrastructure developments in the Western Cape region.

• Conduct site investigations, including soil sampling and in-situ testing, to assess ground conditions.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and design of foundations, retaining walls, and earthworks.
• Develop detailed geotechnical reports, recommendations, and construction drawings.
• Oversee and advise on ground improvement techniques and foundation construction.
• Collaborate with structural engineers and construction teams to ensure design integrity.
• Manage project schedules and budgets for geotechnical aspects of projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical investigations and design.
• Professional registration as a Pr. Eng or P.E. with ECSA is advantageous.
• Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Geo Studio, Plaxis, or similar.
• Experience with construction supervision for geotechnical works .
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
