Avionics Systems Engineer
Our client is seeking a talented Avionics Systems Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in Cape Town. This role is pivotal in the design, integration, testing, and support of complex avionics systems for next‑generation aircraft. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to ensure seamless operation and compliance with stringent industry standards. Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement avionics system architectures and solutions, ensuring adherence to system requirements and specifications.
- Integrate various avionics components, including communication, navigation, flight control, and display systems.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of avionics systems, both in simulation and on actual aircraft platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to avionics hardware and software during development and operational phases.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely delivery and quality of avionics components and subsystems.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field;
Master's degree preferred. - Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in avionics systems engineering within the aerospace industry.
- Proven experience with avionics systems integration, testing, and validation methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards such as DO‑178C, DO‑254, and ARINC standards.
- Proficiency in using simulation tools and test equipment for avionics system analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented setting.
