Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Production Chemist to oversee chemical operations and process optimization at their facilities in Cape Town . This senior role requires extensive knowledge of chemical processes in the oil and gas industry , focusing on maintaining efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance. You will lead a team of chemists and technicians, drive innovation in chemical applications, and ensure the quality and integrity of all chemical products and processes.

- Manage and direct all aspects of chemical production, quality control, and process troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing chemical usage and minimizing waste in upstream and downstream operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of chemists and laboratory technicians, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Research and introduce new chemical technologies and applications to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve complex process challenges.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in chemical process management, with a significant portion in the oil and gas industry .
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of oilfield chemicals, corrosion inhibitors, and production chemistry.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
