Global Mechanical Design Engineer - Propulsion & Systems

Our client is seeking a diligent Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team based in Cape Town . You will play a key role in the conceptualization and detailed design of mechanical systems, ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. • Develop detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software
  .
• Perform root cause analysis for design failures and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability.
• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Conduct stress analysis and thermal performance evaluations to validate designs before production.
• Contribute to the development of technical specifications and bills of materials.
• Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring design intent is met.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency with Solid Works or similar parametric modeling software.
• Familiarity with FEA analysis
