Drilling Operations Manager

Our client is seeking a seasoned Drilling Operations Manager to oversee and optimize drilling activities for their operations based out of Cape Town . This leadership role is critical for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling campaigns. You will manage drilling teams, contractors, and equipment, ensuring adherence to the highest safety and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in drilling engineering and project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex drilling projects.

• Develop and implement comprehensive drilling plans and operational strategies.
• Manage and supervise drilling crews, service providers, and rig operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Oversee the procurement and management of drilling equipment and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
• Monitor drilling performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage the drilling budget and control operational costs effectively.

• Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in drilling engineering and operations, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, well control, and HSE management systems.
• Proven experience managing offshore and/or onshore drilling operations.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
