Process Design Chemical Engineer

About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Process Design Chemical Engineer to join their engineering team in Kimberley . This role is central to the conceptualization and development of new chemical processes and plant designs, as well as the modification and improvement of existing facilities. You will utilize your expertise in process simulation, P&t, and equipment specification to translate conceptual ideas into detailed engineering designs.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented engineer who enjoys creative problem-solving and wants to contribute to impactful projects in the chemical manufacturing sector within the Northern Cape .

• Develop conceptual process designs and P&IDs for new chemical plants and process modifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs and predict performance.
• Specify major process equipment, including reactors, columns, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Conduct technical reviews of designs and collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
• Assist in the commissioning and start-up phases of new process installations.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• 5-7 years of experience in process design and engineering.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of chemical engineering fundamentals and design principles.
• Experience with P&t and equipment sizing.
