Lead Wireless Solutions Architect - Telecoms

Our client, a prominent force in the telecommunications industry, is actively seeking a Lead Wireless Solutions Architect to spearhead their advanced wireless technology initiatives from their offices in Cape Town . This senior position involves architecting cutting-edge wireless solutions, including 5G, LTE, and Wi-Fi, to enhance service delivery and customer experience. The successful candidate will play a critical role in defining the company's wireless strategy, evaluating new technologies, and guiding implementation teams.

• Architect and design end-to-end wireless solutions, encompassing 5G, LTE, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Lead the technical evaluation and selection of new wireless hardware and software.
• Develop high-level and detailed designs for wireless network deployments and upgrades.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and deployment teams.
• Collaborate with product management and business units to align wireless strategy with market needs.
• Perform capacity planning and performance analysis for wireless networks.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for wireless architectures and solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with wireless deployments.
• Stay current with emerging wireless technologies and industry standards.
• Represent the company in technical discussions with partners and vendors.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in wireless network design and architecture, with a strong focus on mobile telecommunications.
• In-depth knowledge of 3
  
  GPP standards, including 5G , LTE, and core network technologies.
• Extensive experience with RF planning, propagation modeling, and antenna systems.
• Proven ability to design and implement complex Wi-Fi solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and virtualization technologies (NFV/SDN) in a telco context.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and projects.
• Experience with simulation tools and network performance analysis.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment in Cape Town .
