Our client is an established international iGaming and sports betting operator expanding rapidly in South Africa. With a newly launched Cape Town hub, they’re hiring senior, commercially driven talent to build high-performance teams in a highly regulated, competitive market.
This role exists for one reason: to win and retain South African players.
This is not a maintenance role. You won’t inherit old campaigns or follow a preset playbook. You will build, own, and evolve the South African retention strategy with full accountability for engagement, loyalty, and revenue across Sports book and Casino.
The OpportunityRetention is where profitability is made in iGaming. In this role, you’ll own how players are incentivised, engaged, and retained, working closely with Marketing, Product, Sports book, Compliance, and Customer Support to deliver measurable commercial results — compliantly.

What You’ll OwnSouth African retention strategy and promotions roadmap
End-to-end bonus & promotions lifecycle (planning → execution → optimisation)
Multi-channel retention campaigns across Sports book & Casino
Customer segmentation, lifecycle and personalisation strategies
Performance analysis focused on retention, DAU, and NGR
Sports book CMS setup, testing, and delivery
Cross-functional collaboration to ensure smooth, compliant execution
Essential
Retention / CRM / Promotions experience within iGaming or sports betting
Strong understanding of bonus mechanics (free bets, boosts, incentives)
Data-driven mindset with hands-on campaign optimisation experience
High attention to detail and strong compliance awareness
Nice to Have
Experience launching retention in a new or regulated market
Knowledge of South African betting behaviour
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
