Band Leader Caribbean Band

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of musicians to deliver exceptional performances in various venues onboard the cruise ship
• Collaborate with the Entertainment Manager to create a diverse and engaging repertoire of music, including Caribbean classics, popular hits, and traditional island tunes
• Conduct regular rehearsals and provide feedback to ensure the band's performances are of the highest standard
• Coordinate with other departments, such as the sound and lighting team, to ensure smooth and seamless performances
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times, representing the company and the band in a positive light
• Uphold all safety and security protocols on board the ship, including participating in safety drills and training sessions
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration among the band members
• Be available to perform at various times throughout the day and evening, including during special events and themed nights

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a band leader or musical director
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Caribbean music, including reggae, calypso, and soca
• Proficient in playing at least one instrument and able to read sheet music
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to perform in a variety of settings and styles
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary travel documents
