Accountant, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst

Accountant position available in Cape Town.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join a Finance team at an investment firm.

This role offers a broad range of responsibilities, high visibility, and significant growth potential. In this fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, analysing complex data, and preparing high-quality financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting:
  Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with timelines.
• Accounting Operations:
  Manage day-to-day accounting processes, including payments, fees, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
• Intercompany Liaison:
  Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage and support intercompany activities.
• Analysis & Insights:
  Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and insights.
• Reporting & Compliance:
  Assist with the preparation of departmental reports, budgets, annual financial statements, and company tax returns.
• Regulatory Adherence:
  Ensure strict compliance with all regulations and guidelines affecting the company’s finances.

Requirements:

Skills & Experience:

• Solid knowledge of IFRS and core accounting principles.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Great Plains is highly advantageous.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Postgraduate Diploma or Honours in Accounting (or equivalent).
• Completed articles or with at least 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar role in the financial sector.
