FINANCE Senior Professional Officer Technical Analyst

• A Bachelor’s Degree, BTech, Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Data Analytics or Finance related
• A higher qualification will be advantageous
• A minimum of 3 years’ data analysis experience in a financial/debtors’ environment
• At least two (2) years’ working experience with “R” or Python programs as well as SQL
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications with Advanced Excel and Power BI skills and demonstrated working experience
• Valid Code B, EB or C driver’s licence is required

• Apply a substantial body of professional knowledge with in depth experience to extract and analyse information and data, developing required dashboards that relates to a wide range of projects which could influence high level decision making, policy amendments and business practices and interpret financial data that has an impact on the City’s collection ratios and debt collection processes
• Establish the data requirements and the collection thereof to generate value and make recommendations on data collection, integration and retention, incorporating business requirements
• Responsible for the calculation of the City’s collection ratios
• Develop and monitor dashboard reporting on the status of the billings, payment trends of debtors, customer behaviours as well as the debt collection activities to optimise revenue collection
• Monitor and report on deviations with regards to the City’s internal accounts and make recommendations to have them rectified
• Responsible for the writing away of credits on final accounts
• Control and monitor the Revenue suspense and clearing accounts
