An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a talented Investment Analyst to join a highly respected asset management firm based in Cape Town.
As the Investment Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the strategic investment, modelling and portfolio construction processes that drive the organisation’s success.

Qualifications And Experience Required For The Investment Analyst- Bachelor’s or Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Mathematical Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics or a related quantitative discipline
- Postgraduate studies or actuarial progress (FIA/FASA)
- five years’ experience in investments, actuarial modelling, quantitative research or analytics within multi-asset investment environments
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced modelling techniques), along with strong programming skills in at least one analytical language such as Python or R
- Experience working with large datasets in modelling environments as well as familiarity with investment data platforms like Bloomberg
- Proven ability to build robust valuation models for different asset classes
- Solid understanding of financial markets dynamics including macroeconomic factors influencing multi-asset portfolios
- Build and refine asset class valuation models and analytical frameworks to guide strategic asset allocation.
- Conduct research on asset classes, macroeconomic trends, and investment opportunities to generate actionable insights.
- Develop benchmarks, model portfolios, and optimisation tools for effective portfolio construction.
- Provide quantitative analysis to support strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions.
- Design and maintain advanced quantitative models and decision-support tools for multi-asset investments.
- Perform back-testing, projections, and scenario analyses to enhance modelling and allocation strategies.
- Monitor portfolios for alignment with strategic views, risk budgets, and investment objectives.
- Prepare portfolio commentary and performance analysis for regular investment reporting cycles.
- Collaborate with advisors, portfolio managers, operational teams, and external managers across the investment process.
- Present modelling outputs, research findings, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders while contributing to broader investment discussions.
