As Bet Jets continues to expand its footprint and strengthen its position within the competitive South African gambling industry, we are seeking an experienced and qualified Head of Finance to join our senior leadership team. This is a pivotal, business-critical role: the successful candidate will act as the Head of Finance for Bet Jets, taking full ownership of the finance function and working in close partnership with the CEO and the Board of Directors to drive sound financial management, robust governance and sustainable growth across the business.

• Act as Head of Finance for Bet Jets, taking full ownership and accountability for the finance function, with a direct reporting line to the CEO and regular, structured reporting to the Board of Directors.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, board packs and financial performance updates to the CEO and the Board, providing clear commentary on financial position, risks and opportunities.
• Attend Board and Exco meetings as the senior finance representative, presenting financial results and responding to queries from directors and shareholders.
• Lead the development and execution of Bet Jets' financial strategy, working closely with the CEO to devise, monitor and adhere to annual budgets and forecasts.
• Partner with the CEO to optimize operational systems, processes and internal controls across the finance department to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
• Manage all suppliers and payments to optimize cash flow and maintain strong working capital management.
• Manage and maintain full tax compliance for all relevant taxes (including but not limited to Gambling Tax, VAT, Employee Tax and Income Tax).
• Oversee and manage the accounting department to produce accurate and timely management accounts, and present financial analysis with actionable insights to the CEO and Board.
• Oversee the payments department to manage risk, prevent fraud, and ensure customer payments are processed efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
• Assist and guide the HR department in administering payroll efficiently and accurately.
• Work with all relevant departments to manage risk and ensure compliance with applicable legislation, including but not limited to the Gambling Act and related provincial gambling board licensing requirements, the Companies Act, FICA and POPI.
• Act as the primary finance liaison with gambling regulators, licensing bodies and the Gambling Board, ensuring all licensing, reporting and compliance obligations are met on time.
• Own the relationship with external auditors and oversee the annual audit process, including financial and gambling board audits.
• Manage banking relationships, treasury functions and funding requirements, and advise the CEO and Board on capital structure and financial risk.
• Provide strategic financial input and modelling to support business growth initiatives.
• Establish and maintain a strong internal control and risk management framework appropriate for a licensed gambling operator, including fraud prevention and anti-money-laundering controls.
• Support broader corporate governance requirements and act as a key point of financial accountability to shareholders and the Board.
