2025 SAICA Trainee Accountant – Audit (Financial Services) Description
Join BDO South Africa for a 3-year SAICA Accountant Traineeship in the Financial Services (FS) division. As part of the global BDO network, trainees will gain specialized expertise in the banking, insurance, asset management, and funds industries. This position offers hands‑on experience, continuous learning, and opportunities to contribute to an innovative and technology-driven environment. Trainees will develop SAICA competencies necessary to qualify as Chartered Accountants and support BDO's mission to provide exceptional client service.
Responsibilities- Perform audits in the banking, insurance, asset management, and funds sectors
- Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements
- Analyze financial statements and ensure compliance with SAICA and IFRS standards
- Work closely with clients and management to gather financial information
- Develop innovative solutions and contribute to transforming the FS industry
- Collaborate with audit teams and participate in CSI initiatives and professional development
- Honours / PGDA / CTA or equivalent qualification from a SAICA-recognized university
- Strong technical ability, attention to detail, and analytical skills
- Passion for financial markets and the FS sector
