Job PurposeTo administer Nominated, Unnominated and SETA funding, ensuring that funds are administered according to donor criteria and institutional policies and procedures.
Please note that preference will be given to suitably qualified internal candidates who meet the minimum requirements.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Two (2) years' relevant experience in the administration of financial aid
- Strong knowledge of financial aid policies and procedures
- Knowledge of ITS
- Required to work overtime during peak times or as and when required
- A relevant National Diploma in Business Studiesor an equivalent3-year qualification
- Financial aid experience within a higher education environment
- Knowledge of ITS
- Administration of Bursaries and SETAs funding
- Perform assessment and funding eligibility in line with donor's conditions and CPUT policies
- Assisting students with Financial Aid to register (Financial Clearance)
- Ensuring that records are kept up to date and accurately filed for quick reference and audit purposes.
- Processing bursary claims in line with donor's criteria and internal audit reviews
- Crediting of student's fee account and processing awards
- Perform reconciliation reports to verify cost centre assigned to donors
- Assess and verify private accommodation applicants
- Confirming validity and integrity of documents
- Preparing allowance file and processing of allowances to the students
- Liaise with donors, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
- General administrative duties which include filling, maintaining filling system, and any tasks related to the operations of the office (ad hoc)
- Participate in orientation and open day sessions.
- Provide support to Senior Financial Aid Officers and Manager
- Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the line manager
- Good communication skills - Verbal and Written
- Good Interpersonal Skills. Computer Literacy (ITS, Outlook, Excel and Word).
- Applied knowledge of ITS.
- Meticulous and accuracy
- Knowledge of financial aid policies, rules, and regulations.
- Exposure to working under pressure with strict adherence to deadlines.
