Compliance Manager - Financial Regulation

Our client, a respected financial institution, is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to lead their compliance efforts in Upington , operating under a hybrid work model. This senior role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and enforcement of compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations. You will play a critical role in mitigating regulatory risk, guiding the compliance team, and maintaining the integrity of the organization's operations within the banking and finance sector .

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
• Oversee internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Stay current with changes in regulatory requirements and advise senior management on their implications.
• Lead and mentor the compliance team, fostering a culture of integrity and adherence to best practices.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and external auditors.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees across the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCEP, CRCM) is highly advantageous.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management within the banking or financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FICA, POPIA, Banks Act) and international compliance standards.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, suitable for a hybrid working environment.
• Proven ability to manage a team and drive compliance initiatives effectively in the Upington area.
