Senior) Financial Controller

Join us in shaping and professionalising our growing South African organisation. As Financial Controller South Africa, you will take ownership of financial control, compliance, governance and treasury while playing a key role in further embedding Oracle Fusion across the business. This is a highly visible position with significant autonomy and direct exposure to both local leadership and Haskoning's international finance organisation.

As Financial Controller, you will oversee the financial management, reporting and statutory compliance of our South African operations. You will safeguard the financial integrity of the local organisation while acting as a trusted finance partner to local management and our international finance teams.

Your responsibilities include:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS and Group requirements.
• Manage South African tax, statutory and governance obligations, working with auditors, advisors, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Partner with local management and project managers on performance, profitability, forecasting, working capital and financial decision-making.
• Coordinate local treasury and cash management activities, including liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting and banking relationships.
• Drive the implementation and optimisation of Oracle Fusion while improving finance processes, controls, automation and reporting quality.

As our new Financial Controller South Africa, you will become part of our international finance organisation. You will be based in one of our South African offices and report to the Director International Finance, Tax & Compliance.

Approximately 80 Haskoning employees currently work in South Africa. You will collaborate with local management and colleagues across Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Global Mobility. This gives you the opportunity to influence both the day-to-day financial operation and the continued growth and professionalisation of our South African organisation.

You are an experienced finance professional who works confidently and independently in an international environment. You combine strong technical knowledge with a pragmatic and commercially minded approach. You can move between detailed financial matters and broader business priorities, building trusted relationships with local and international stakeholders.

You also bring:

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, preferably combined with a professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
• At least five to seven years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting or finance management.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls and South African tax and statutory requirements.
• Experience working in an international or matrix organisation, with proven business-partnering and stakeholder-management skills.
