Job Purpose
The Department of Local Government, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to monitor and ensure compliance with legislation and Statutory performance of the
Districts and Local Municipalities within the Western Cape.
A qualification at NQF level 6 in Public Administration or an appropriate Diploma (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years middle management experience.

Key Performance Areas
- Manage and Coordinate the Annual Municipal Performance Report in terms of Section 47 of the Municipal Systems Act
- Collect, Validate and evaluate municipal data and information relating to municipal compliance reports
- Prepare recommendations for municipal support and interventions
- Manage amd analyse trends in municipal compliance through municipal monitoring and execute follow up research arising from municipal trend reports
- Plan and manage the work of and account for the overall performance of the Sub-directorate
- People Management and Financial Management

- Legislation, regulatory frameworks, policies and best practices that have a bearing on the line functions
- Information systems that aid in the management of knowledge and information pertaining to the line function

Remuneration
All-inclusive salary package of R 932 292 per annum (Salary level 11)
Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
