Senior Officer

Our client is seeking 11 Senior Professional Officers (Town Planning) to join their team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced planning professionals to apply their expertise within a dynamic local government environment and contribute to the effective management of land-use applications across Cape Town.

As a Senior Professional Officer, you will be responsible for:

• Processing land-use applications across the eight district offices
  .
• Undertaking planning-related projects and tasks as assigned.
• Ensuring that all legislated time frames, procedures and protocols are met and adhered to.
• Performing the necessary administrative functions associated with land-use planning applications.
• A relevant degree in Town and Regional Planning
  .
• At least 5 years’ relevant postgraduate experience at an appropriate level.
• A minimum of 2 years’ related supervisory experience
  .

• Technical or professional registration with SACPLAN
  .
• Sound working knowledge of planning and local government legislation
  , as well as NEMA regulations
  .
• Experience working with Development Application Management Systems (DAMS).
• Strong analytical, organisational and administrative skills.
• The ability to manage applications within prescribed legislative time frames.
