Receptionist & Back-Up Therapist Purpose of the Position
Under the general direction of the Spa Manager and within the limits of the hotel’s policies and procedures, the Receptionist & Back-Up Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service at the spa reception while providing professional spa treatments when required. The role ensures smooth daily operations and an outstanding spa experience for all guests.

Main Duties & Responsibilities Reception Duties
Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
Manage bookings, appointments, and guest enquiries (telephonic and in person).
Handle payments, cash-ups, and retail sales.
Promote spa treatments, packages, promotions, and retail products.
Maintain accurate guest records and appointment schedules.
Ensure reception and retail areas are clean, organized, and inviting.
Therapist Duties (Back-Up Role)
Perform a variety of spa treatments including:
Massages
Facials
Body treatments
Manicures and pedicures
Waxing and other services as required
Conduct professional consultations to understand guest needs and preferences.
Ensure guests feel relaxed, comfortable, and satisfied throughout their spa experience.
Maintain high hygiene and safety standards at all times.
Ensure treatment rooms are fully stocked with professional products, towels, and supplies.
Maintain excellent product knowledge.
Stay updated with industry trends and competitors.
Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
Stocktake & Inventory Control
Conduct regular stock takes of retail products, professional products, and consumables.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Spa Manager.
Ensure accurate recording of stock received, used, and sold.
Assist with ordering stock in line with minimum and maximum levels.
Prevent stock loss through proper handling and storage procedures.
Ensure retail displays are fully stocked, clean, and attractively presented.
Check expiry dates and rotate stock accordingly.
Assist with monthly stock reconciliations and variance reporting.
Job Specifications
International Beauty Therapy Certificate / Somatology Diploma (ITEC or CIDESCO preferred).
2–3 years’ experience in a hotel or spa environment.
Proven retail sales track record.
Ability to source new business and develop a regular client database.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Knowledge & Skills

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- An international Beauty Therapy Certificate/ Somatology Diploma from ITEC or CIDESCO
- 2-3 years of Hotel / Spa experience
- Great previous retail track record
- Ability to source new business
- Ability to develop a regular client database
- Required to work shifts and most weekends and public holidays
