We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (Senior Shift Leader / Unit Manager) to join our team at Clé du Cap Healthcare Centre in Kirstenhof.

This is a hands‑on leadership role within a structured, well‑supported healthcare environment — ideal for an experienced nurse who wants leadership responsibility without hospital‑level chaos.

You will oversee daily nursing operations, lead your team on shift, and ensure high clinical standards while working closely with doctors, therapists, management, and HR.

Your Role Clinical Leadership
  • Oversee and coordinate nursing care within the unit
  • Ensure high standards of clinical documentation and compliance
  • Monitor medication management and infection control

    Conduct high‑risk assessments and ensure safe care delivery
Operational Oversight
  • Manage daily staffing and shift allocations
  • Guide and mentor nursing staff and carers
  • Address performance matters where required
  • Ensure smooth operational flow of the unit
Emergency & Family Communication
  • Act appropriately during medical emergencies
  • Communicate effectively with families and the multidisciplinary team
Requirements Qualifications
  • SANC registered as a Registered Nurse.
  • Up‑to‑date Basic Life Support certification is advantageous.
Experience And Knowledge
  • Proven experience as a Unit Manager or Senior Shift Leader
  • Experience in a similar leadership position is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Dementia care, Frail care, and Palliative care is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in organising and delivering training sessions for staff development.
  • Experience with staff scheduling, supervision, and training
Skills And Attributes
  • Clinical Expertise:
    Strong clinical skills and experience in nursing practice, including assessments, treatments, and patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact
  • Problem‑Solving:
    Capability to make critical decisions, solve complex problems, and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

    Flexibility to handle changing circumstances and adapt quickly to new protocols or procedures.

    Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively manage a nursing unit's daily operations.
  • Skilled in addressing and correcting staff behaviour or performance issues.
  • Time Management:
    Efficiently manage time and resources during shifts to prioritise patient care and operational tasks.

  • Clear health record.

  • Two written references.
