Role Summary

Fulfil the role of a strategic technical leader who is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure. The engineer will also lead architectural documentation efforts, mentor junior team members, and drive knowledge transfer across the team.

Is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of complex enterprise server and network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Design & Optimization

Architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective IT systems. Continuously assess and enhance infrastructure for performance, reliability, and simplicity.

Network Architecture & Design

• Design and document scalable, secure, and high-performance network architectures (on-prem and cloud)
• Lead network modernization and cloud migration initiatives

Infrastructure Implementation & Support

• Configure and maintain enterprise firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN appliances
• Manage network tunnels (IPSec, GRE, SSL) and hybrid connectivity (Direct Connect, Express Route, Cloud VPN)

Platform Engineering

• Provisioning and managing infrastructure:
  Handle servers, networks, storage, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure reliable environment.
• Optimizing CI/CD pipelines:
  Build and refine automated workflows for code integration, testing, and deployment to accelerate delivery.
• Ensuring scalability and reliability:
  Design platforms that support growth, minimize downtime, and maintain operational excellence

Cloud Networking

• Architect and support VPCs, VNets, subnets, peering, routing, and security groups in AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Implement cloud-native network services (e.g., Transit Gateway, Azure Firewall, GCP Cloud Router)

Security & Compliance

• Enforce network segmentation, access control, and encryption standards
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal and external security frameworks

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Use tools like Wireshark, Net Flow, Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor, and GCP Operations Suite for diagnostics
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex network incidents

Documentation & Standards

• Maintain detailed network diagrams, runbooks, and change control documentation
• Define and enforce network engineering standards and best practices

Mentorship & Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to team skill development

Collaboration & Leadership

• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to cross-functional projects.
• Work closely with IT leadership to align infrastructure with business goals.
