UI​/UX Designer

We are looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer to join our team based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa.

The successful candidate will slot into our team and work alongside client-facing team members, and oftentimes clients as well.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and innovate user-centered design processes

• Champions the UX and UI processes

• Ensuring that the designated designs and products of clients are articulated and met.

• Advocate for the role of user experience, design, and research in making more data-driven decisions

• Play a leading role in client interactions in order to understand, in firsthand, their needs and formulate product UX and UI designs

• Regularly report out to various leaders and teams in the company about UX programs, projects, success stories, and best practices

• Support the continual optimization of product development

• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers

• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemap

• Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets

• Create click through prototypes of designs to demonstrate the navigation flow of screens

• Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like

• Create original graphic designs (e.g., images, sketches and tables)

• Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders

• Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g., responsiveness)

• Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback

• Adhere to style standards on fonts, colours, and images

• You have a qualification in Design, Fine Arts, Engineering or a related field

• You have 2-3 years prior experience as a UI/UX Designer as well as a portfolio of related projects

• You are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)

• You are proficient in Figma

• Comfortable with building platforms such as WIX and Editor X

• You pay strong attention to detail and have a keen eye for aesthetics

• You have excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions

• You are a strong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholders
