What You'll Be Doing

• Administer and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, including policy creation, threat prevention, and VPN configurations.
• Monitor firewall logs, analyse security events, and respond to incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to enforce network security standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular firewall audits and ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and security processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for network security posture.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (PCNSA/PCNSE certifications preferred).
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including NAT, IPSec, and SSL VPNs.
• Familiarity with Panorama, Wild Fire, and Global Protect.
• Experience with SIEM tools and security monitoring solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Minimum qualifications

Education:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent (NQF Level
  4) - essential.
• IT-related tertiary qualification (e.g., Diploma or Certificate in IT, Computer Science, or Information Systems) - preferred

Certifications:

• Palo Alto Networks: PCNSE / PCCSE / NSE

• Cisco: CCNA Enterprise; CCNP (Security or Enterprise).
• Fortinet: NSE4 or above (beneficial).

Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewall administration.
• Exposure to Fortinet, Check Point, or other firewall technologies (advantageous).
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting).
• Understanding of ITIL practices and change management processes.

Job Expectations

• Location:
  
  Cape Town, South Africa.
• Working Model:
  Office-based with alignment to CET business hours.
• Working Hours:
  
  Standard Cape Town hours with required overlap with UK/European operations.
• On-Call:
  Participation in after-hours maintenance or incident response rotation as required.
