IntroductionWe are looking to recruit a Technical Team Lead (SAP) to work within Infrastructure Team in the IT department of Clicks Group Services. The role will be based at Clicks Head Office in Cape Town and will report to the Infrastructure Manager.
Job PurposeThe role involves providing leadership and technical support to the IBM infrastructure and SAP ECC (finance module) running on IBM System-I (AS400), focusing on delivering world-class infrastructure to support Clicks IT business applications and managing daily operations effectively using best practices
Job Objectives- Manage a team of 4 people
- Administering technologies by maintaining appropriate versions and applying patches.
- Analyzing records of major problems to identify recurring issues and improve resolution methods.
- Assisting with the implementation of the infrastructure roadmap and one-year plan.
- Supporting operational improvements and stabilization to meet service levels.
- Driving continuous technology process improvements to embed operational excellence.
- Performing general housekeeping to optimize technology performance.
- Ensuring self-development to keep pace with changing technology and industry standards.
- Documenting systems and processes thoroughly .
Candidates must have expertise in at least one of the following:
- SAP functional knowledge with technical expertise in the IBM i operating system, DB2 for i database.
- SAP Basis administration.
- AIX Operating System administration and maintenance.
- IBM i (OS/400) Operating System administration and maintenance.
Additional advantageous skills include:
- Experience with IBM Power
VM virtualization. - Knowledge of TCP/IP networks (LAN and WAN).
- Understanding of Storage Area Networks .
- 7 to 10 years of experience in general IT infrastructure and technology administration.
- Understanding of appropriate technology stacks.
- Ability to build relationships with peers, vendors, and customers.
- Awareness of the IT industry and its challenges.
- Skills in technology administration and management.
- Capability to handle pressure effectively.
- Strong conceptual and analytical abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proficient technical and business communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Integrity and honesty .
