Xpert: SAP Test Lead

Role: SAP QA manager, QA lead (SAP S/4

HANA migration, automation)

Type: Independent contract

Start and duration: (project-based, 12 months – renewable up to 3 years)

Location: Cape Town central (on-site/hybrid)

We’re currently looking for a senior, QA‑led SAP QA manager, QA lead to take end‑to‑end accountability for quality delivery across a major SAP ECC to SAP S/4

HANA migration. This is a multi‑year programme delivered in two phases (Group A then Group

B), with heavy emphasis on strong testing fundamentals, structured governance, and stakeholder‑ready reporting. The preference is for seasoned QA professionals with SAP testing experience (not SAP functional analysts acting in testing roles).

• Own the SAP S/4
  
  HANA testing strategy and master test plan (including entry/exit criteria).
• Lead SIT, UAT, regression, cutover testing, and readiness reporting.
• Own defect management (triage, prioritisation, reporting) and test governance.
• Provide quality, risk, and readiness updates to client QA leadership and Steerco.
• Coordinate testing across phases and work streams.
• Guide and mentor SAP QA team members, driving continuous improvement.
• Shape the automation approach (including UI automation where relevant, e.g., Playwright for Fiori) and support AI‑driven acceleration.

• Strong QA, test management leadership (non‑negotiable).
• Proven SAP S/4
  
  HANA migration testing leadership (ECC to S/4
  
  HANA, Fiori).
• Azure Dev Ops experience for planning, execution, defects, reporting.
• Experience with modern test management tooling (excluding Sol Man).
• Strong stakeholder management and governance.
• Automation experience (Fiori UI regression) and exposure to AI‑assisted testing.
• Structured, delivery‑focused QA leader with strong communication and the ability to operate as the single point of accountability for quality.
