JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a Data Scientist with strong retail experience to join our AI & Analytics team. You will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy AI models that improve customer experience, optimize inventory, and drive business growth.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

• Design, develop, and maintain predictive models for retail applications such as demand forecasting, recommendation engines, pricing optimization, and churn prediction.
• Work closely with business teams to understand retail challenges and translate them into data science solutions.
• Explore and analyze structured and unstructured retail data to derive actionable insights.
• Implement and optimize machine learning models in Python using libraries such as scikit-learn, Tensor Flow, or PyTorch.
• Build and maintain SQL-based pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Deploy models to cloud environments (GCP preferred; Azure/AWS acceptable) and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, ML Engineers, and Product Owners to integrate models into production systems.
• Document models, data pipelines, and methodologies for reproducibility and compliance purposes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Proficient in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, statistics, and predictive modeling techniques.
• Strong communication skills to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 3–5+ years of experience in data science, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
• Strong experience with Python for data analysis and machine learning.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, for model development and deployment.
• Experience with retail-specific AI applications (e.g., recommendation systems, demand forecasting, pricing models).

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

• Experience with big data technologies (Big Query, Spark, Dataflow).
• Experience with MLOps, model versioning, and CI/CD for AI.
• Exposure to data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
