We are recruiting on behalf of a leading technology solutions provider for an experienced Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales) to join their Cape Town–based team. This is a key, high-impact role for a technically strong infrastructure professional who enjoys customer engagement, solution design, and working closely with sales and delivery teams.

What You Bring / Requirements
Core Experience

• 5+ years’ experience as an infrastructure-focused Solutions Architect or senior engineer
• Strong background across storage, servers, virtualisation, and data protection
• Comfortable engaging with customers at both technical and executive levels

Storage & Servers

• Proven experience with enterprise SAN and storage solutions (Dell Power Store / Power Vault preferred)
• Strong server design and deployment experience (Dell Power Edge advantageous)
• Exposure to HPE, Lenovo or Pure Storage beneficial

Virtualisation & Microsoft

• Strong VMware experience (vSphere essential)
• Exposure to vSAN, Nutanix or Hyper-V advantageous
• Experience with P2V / V2V migrations
• Solid Microsoft Server knowledge (current versions)
• Microsoft 365 / Office 365 experience
• Working knowledge of AD, DNS and DHCP
• Visio design skills are important

Data Protection

• Hands-on experience with Veeam backup and replication
• Experience with immutable repositories and Scale-Out Backup Repositories (SO )
• Rubrik exposure advantageous

Certifications (Beneficial, Not Mandatory)

• VMware VCP
• Veeam VMCE
• Dell Power Edge / Power Store certifications
• Rubrik certifications

What You’ll Be Doing:

Solution Design & Pre-Sales Engagement

• Lead customer engagements to understand business and technical requirements
• Design end-to-end infrastructure solutions aligned to customer outcomes
• Present, explain and defend solution designs in workshops and proposals

Sales & Delivery Collaboration

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to the Solution Sales team
• Ensure designs are practical, scalable and aligned with best practices
• Support project execution from design through to implementation handover

Technical Leadership

• Provide troubleshooting and fault-finding support when required
• Deliver clear documentation and knowledge transfer to delivery and operations teams
• Build strong relationships with technology vendors and identify solution opportunities

Operational Flexibility

• Willingness to travel to remote customer sites as required
• After-hours work may be required for customer maintenance windows
