In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system, empowering our engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver innovative products efficiently and accurately.

Job Purpose:

Ensures smooth daily operation of the Siemens Teamcenter environment by providing first-line user support, maintaining PLM data integrity, performing routine administration tasks, supporting user training, and escalating complex issues to the PLM Administrator to uphold the quality and consistency of product lifecycle data across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

Customer Perspective:

  • Provide first‑line support for all Teamcenter incidents, including login issues, permissions, workflow errors, project access problems, and general usage questions.
  • Monitor, update, and manage PLM tickets in the ITSM help desk system, ensuring timely, professional responses to users.
  • Assist users with Teamcenter navigation and with the correct use of workflows, relationships, and best practices.
  • Train new end‑users on Teamcenter basics (interface usage, workflows, document handling, and search).

PLM Support

  • Provide first‑line troubleshooting for reported PLM issues, resolving them where possible or escalating to the PLM Administrator when required.
  • Perform general Teamcenter administration tasks, including:
    • Creating and updating PLM user accounts
    • Managing and maintaining workflows
    • Creating and maintaining projects and assigning users
    • Handling access, permissions, and login issues
  • Assist with Teamcenter front‑end configuration (as guided by the PLM Administrator).

Software Installation & Configuration

  • Perform Teamcenter‑related software installations, including:
    • Teamcenter 4‑tier Rich Client
    • Active Workspace Client
    • Teamcenter Add‑On for Microsoft Office
    • NX and Teamcenter Integration for NX
  • Work closely with the PLM Administrator during upgrade cycles or module deployments.

Data Management & System Quality

  • Validate and maintain data integrity in Teamcenter (metadata checks, document classification, correct revisioning, structure consistency).
  • Assist with resolving dispatcher issues, processing errors, and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Conduct basic system performance troubleshooting and escalate complex technical issues.
  • Support testing activities during system upgrades, new feature deployment, workflow updates, and configuration changes.

Documentation

  • Maintain training materials, instructional guides, SOPs, and best‑practice documentation, as directed by the PLM Administrator.
  • Capture recurring problems, update FAQs, and communicate known issues or process changes to PLM users.
  • Help improve PLM documentation to ensure consistent use across engineering, production, and quality teams.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline PLM workflows and improve end‑user experience.
  • Keep up to date with new Teamcenter modules and technologies.
  • Keep up to date on Siemens Xcelerator Academy courses.

Required Qualifications:

BCom Informatics or BSc Computer Science or Similar

Required Experience:

  • 0–3 years' experience in PLM, CAD support, or engineering support (preferred, not required).
  • Exposure to:
    • Teamcenter or other PLM tools
    • NX or CAD environments
    • Engineering change processes
  • Basic understanding of product lifecycle processes.
  • Maintaining user documentation.

Recommendations:

  • Previous experience in Teamcenter or other PLM systems.
  • Proficiency in managing product data and ensuring its accuracy and integrity throughout the lifecycle.
  • Providing technical support to users of PLM systems.
  • Previous work experience is not required since the successful candidate will receive in-service training.
  • Helpdesk experience.
