Business Analyst

Title: Business Analyst

Location: Cape Town (Mowbray) - Hybrid work model

The key function of a BA is to work with stakeholders to analyze and document business processes for a system or software to be developed. To determine functional requirements and high‑level features, elaborate on project details, set direction, and support implementation.

• Document the client requirements
• Document in a clear manner
• Produce a well‑structured document according to the specification template
• Create mockups and sample reports
• Maintain documentation and ensure it remains up to date
• Minimise rework required for artifacts produced
• Deliver results to customer expectation
• Keep UAT failure rate below 9%
• Ensure the finished product meets client expectations
• Run workshops with clients
• Conduct spec handover sessions with the development team
• Lead demo sessions
• Collaborate with the development team and project managers
• Collaborate with the Product Owner
• Participate in backlog grooming

• Experience with mockup tools
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence (or similar)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in user stories
• Wire framing skills
• Experience using Agile (SAFe) methodologies
• Participation in estimation sessions and creation of acceptance criteria
• Ability to create and run demo sessions
• Time‑tracking management
• Experience with requirements documents and requirement solicitation

• A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Business Analyst role
• Business Analyst degree or qualification
• Retail‑related experience
• Exposure to enterprise development
